Uninspiring Madonna
I was excited about the show and expected something dynamic and memorable but I am afraid both my wife and I were very disappointed. The best I can say about the show is that it was mediocre. I was looking forward to the show so much having been a Madonna fan for many years and not having had the opportunity to see her before.
The support act was a joke just horrible pounding music which no one listened to for over two hours, this did not get the audience into any kind of party mood. When Madonna finally came on at 10.30, I think a lot of people were bored with the proceedings and instead of being built up to a frenzy, there seemed to be resigned apathy of what was to come.
I did not think that the stage show she put on was particularly spectacular and the sound wasn't the best I have heard either. The quality of her singing and dancing was also not up to the standards I expected of such a superstar. Madonna was disappointed with the audience response and although she worked hard to win them over, she never did.
When Madonna eventually came on, the audience never really got into the mood I had expected. I nor anyone else on the level I was on, and from what I could see in other sections, got up to dance or sing, and the response to her songs were lukewarm at best.
I paid a lot of money for the tickets and the overnight accommodation, and although we had a very enjoyable weekend, I am afraid that what should have been the highlight was very forgettable.
